Arsenal vs Leeds United opens the sixth Premier League matchday at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 10 October 2026, kick-off 12:30 BST. The reigning champions are second on 12 points; Daniel Farke's Leeds are fifth, still unbeaten, on nine — their highest position at this stage of a season since 2000/01 (Sky Sports).

The bookmakers see one-way traffic: Arsenal 2/5, the draw 4/1, Leeds 15/2 (Oddschecker, best available, sampled 29 September 2026). The numbers underneath are less tidy. Arsenal have scored eight league goals in five games and were beaten 3-0 at Brighton last time out. Leeds have conceded three goals all season — the joint-fewest in the division.

What follows is a full Arsenal vs Leeds United prediction: dated team news from September sources, form and head-to-head tables built from league-wide results pages, a priced-up market section with our own probability estimate, and a correct score call at the end.

Why 2/5 understates Leeds United

Four things separate this fixture from the routine home banker the price implies. Each is checkable, and each is sourced below.

1. The champions won seven in a row, then stopped scoring

Arsenal began the season with seven straight wins in all competitions — the Community Shield, four Premier League games, a 1-0 win at Napoli in the Champions League and a 4-2 League Cup win at Ipswich. Sky Sports reported they were chasing an eighth consecutive victory and their best start to any campaign in 123 years when they travelled to the Amex on 19 September. They lost 3-0, and the report noted the scoreline flattered them: Arsenal needed 44 minutes to create a meaningful chance (Sky Sports).

Arteta's verdict afterwards was blunt: "A very disappointing result and performance… we were extremely poor technically, not respecting the game and the game principles." The wider problem is volume. Eight goals in five league games is fewer than Brighton (16), Manchester City (13), Chelsea (10) and Brentford (10) — and Arsenal are second in the table on the strength of three clean sheets, not their attack.

2. Leeds have the joint-meanest defence in the Premier League

Farke's side have conceded three goals in five matches, level with Everton and fewer than every other club including Manchester City (5) and Arsenal (4). They have kept two clean sheets and are one of five sides still unbeaten (Football Web Pages league table, 20 September).

The trade-off is at the other end: three of their five games have finished level, including a 0-0 at home to Crystal Palace on 20 September. Leeds have drawn more league games than anyone except Brentford, Liverpool and Everton — all on the same W2 D3 line. This is a side built to make games small, which is precisely the wrong kind of opponent for an Arsenal team that has stopped scoring.

3. Arsenal's injury list resets on this exact date

A round-up published on 28 September 2026 names five Arsenal players whose target return fixture is 10 October vs Leeds at home: Kai Havertz (muscle strain sustained on international duty with Germany), Declan Rice, Piero Hincapié, Ben White and Cristhian Mosquera. William Saliba is the exception — a back fracture picked up at the World Cup, treated without surgery, with a target of December 2026 (Yahoo Sports).

That cuts both ways. Arsenal should be close to full strength for the first time since early September — but five players returning from a break is not the same as five players sharp, and Havertz is joint-second on their scoring chart with two.

4. Lille on Tuesday, Bayern the week after

Arsenal host Lille in the Champions League on 13 October, three days after this game, then travel to Bayern Munich on 21 October with a trip to Nottingham Forest in between (UEFA league-phase fixtures). That is four matches in fifteen days, two of them in Europe.

Leeds have no European football at all this season — their Wikipedia season infobox lists the Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup only (2026-27 Leeds United season) — and they have not played since 20 September. They arrive with three clear weeks of rest and nothing to hold back for. Arsenal arrive at the front end of a compressed block with Lille already on the whiteboard.

Arteta on Saliba, quoted on 26 September: "We don't really know the number of weeks he's going to be out because it's about a healing process… The progression has been really positive in the last few weeks, but we need to wait and see how that one reacts when we start to put some load into it." (Read Arsenal; corroborated by the 19 September round-up and the 28 September round-up.)

Arsenal are the reigning Premier League champions and Community Shield holders, with Martin Ødegaard as captain (2026-27 Arsenal season). No suspensions are reported.

Farke said after the Newcastle win that his squad has "energy, quality, good structure in and out of possession", and called Dominic Calvert-Lewin "definitely one of the stand-out strikers in the league" (Sky Sports, 14 September). Leeds reported no fresh issues from that match (Yorkshire Evening Post); the Rodon hamstring dates back to the Brentford draw on 30 August (Yorkshire Evening Post).

Arsenal have won both home league games and conceded once at the Emirates. But their away record — three goals in three games, and the only defeat — is the honest read on their attack, and Leeds are unbeaten on the road with one goal conceded in two away matches. Leeds' problem is the reverse of Arsenal's: they have drawn two of three at Elland Road, including a goalless one.

Two things stand out. Arsenal's eight goals are shared between four players, three of whom (Saka, Havertz, Ødegaard) are attacking midfielders or wide forwards rather than a centre-forward. And Leeds' leading scorer has as many league goals as Arsenal's — a striking fact for a side priced at 15/2.

The last meeting was a 0-4 Arsenal win at Elland Road on 31 January 2026 (Arsenal match report). Leeds have not beaten Arsenal in any of their last eight meetings and have not scored against them in either of the last two. That is a genuine edge for Arsenal — but it is also mostly a record set by a different Leeds side, one that was relegated and promoted in between, and by an Arsenal attack that was scoring far more freely than this one.

One more piece of context on the cup form: Arsenal won 4-2 at Ipswich in the League Cup third round on 15 September, while Leeds lost 6-3 at Chelsea on 9 September after what was described as a Chelsea comeback (NBC Sports). Neither club plays again before 10 October — Leeds' next fixture after this one is Manchester United at home on 18 October, and the League Cup fourth round is not until the week of 26 October.

The market: what Arsenal vs Leeds United is actually priced at

Both the Oddschecker league board and the match page returned the same best-available prices when we checked on 29 September 2026: Arsenal 2/5, draw 4/1, Leeds 15/2. Two independent reads agreeing is the check worth doing — we have previously found the board and the match page quoting materially different numbers.

One well-known statistical model disagrees sharply. Forebet's page for this fixture gives Arsenal 38%, draw 41%, Leeds 21% and predicts 2-2 (Forebet). We think that is too kind to Leeds — it appears to lean heavily on Leeds' draw rate and on Arsenal's single bad afternoon at Brighton — but the gap between a 69% market and a 38% model is worth showing rather than hiding.

This is our own estimate, not a bookmaker figure and not a published model. It is built from the home and away splits, the goals-for and goals-against records above, the head-to-head, and the fixture-congestion asymmetry. It has no audited track record and you should treat it as one opinion with its working shown. Odds move — check the price before you stake anything.

The short version: we agree Arsenal are the most likely winner, and we think 2/5 is too short. At 1.40 you need Arsenal to win 71% of the time. We make it 62%, which is the difference between a bet and a donation.

Arsenal vs Leeds United prediction and correct score

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Leeds United. Arsenal are at home, close to full strength for the first time since early September, and facing a side that has not scored against them in two attempts. Leeds are the better-organised team of the two right now, but organisation without a goal threat at the Emirates usually ends one way.

Leeds' most common result this season is the draw — three from five.

The honest tension in this piece: an Arsenal win is the most likely single outcome on our own numbers, and 2-0 is the scoreline we would name. But the value is on the draw at 4/1 and on Leeds at 15/2, because 2/5 prices Arsenal at 71% and we make them 62%. If you are betting to a prediction, take Arsenal 2-0. If you are betting to a price, take the draw. Those are not the same decision and we are not going to pretend they are.

Where this prediction could be wrong

  • There are eleven days between publication and kick-off, and an international window in between. Team news written today can be overturned by one training-ground injury.

  • Our probability estimate is our own, has no audited record, and is built on a five-game sample. Five matches is a small base for any conclusion about either side.

  • The five Arsenal returnees are targeting this fixture, not confirmed for it. If Havertz and Rice miss out, the attacking case for 2-0 weakens considerably.

  • Leeds' defensive record was built partly against Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Brentford — none of whom are scoring freely. It has not yet been tested by a top-two attack away from home.

  • The Under 3.5 lean depends on Arsenal staying blunt. If the returning players click immediately, a 3-0 or 4-0 is well within their range — they have done 3-0 twice already.

  • Arsenal host Lille three days later. Rotation is a real possibility and we have assumed a near-strongest XI (Arsenal's October fixture dates).

Arsenal vs Leeds United FAQ

What time is Arsenal vs Leeds United and where is it played?

Arsenal vs Leeds United kicks off at 12:30 BST on Saturday 10 October 2026 at the Emirates Stadium, London. It is matchday 6 of the 2026/27 Premier League season. The date and time are confirmed by Football Web Pages' October fixture list and by Arsenal's published October schedule.

Our prediction is Arsenal 2-0 Leeds United. Arsenal have won both home league games 5-1 on aggregate and have won the last eight meetings with Leeds; Leeds have scored just twice in two away games this season and have not scored against Arsenal since April 2023.

Best available prices on 29 September 2026 were Arsenal 2/5 (1.40), the draw 4/1 (5.00) and Leeds United 15/2 (8.50), with an overround of 103.2%. Our own estimate is Arsenal 62%, draw 24%, Leeds 14%, which makes the draw and Leeds the only selections showing an overlay. Odds move — check the price before staking.

William Saliba is out with a back fracture sustained at the World Cup, with a target return of December 2026. Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapié were all reported on 28 September 2026 as targeting this exact fixture for their return. Jurrien Timber's groin workload is being managed with no setback reported.

Joe Rodon was still out as of 18 September with a hamstring injury picked up against Brentford on 30 August, with no return date given. Ilia Gruev is working back from five months out and has featured for the under-21s. Gabriel Gudmundsson had cramp against Newcastle but it was not described as serious. Leeds reported no fresh issues from their last two matches.

Across 32 meetings since 1995 Arsenal have won 23, Leeds 4, with 5 draws, and the goals stand at 75-23 to Arsenal. Arsenal have won the last eight meetings by an aggregate of 26-5, including 5-0 at the Emirates in August 2025 and 4-0 at Elland Road in January 2026.

On our numbers, yes, but only a small one. We estimate Leeds at 14%, which makes their fair price 7.14 against a best available 8.50 — roughly a 19% overlay. The draw at 4/1 against our 4.17 fair price is a slightly larger edge with the same caveat: a three-percentage-point error in our estimate wipes it out entirely. Neither is a confident bet.
